Why the Rebar Coupler Can't be Tightened

2022-03-23

In the construction process of steel bar connection, it is often encountered the problem that the steel bar connection sleeve cannot be screwed on the wire head. Here let us talk about the reasons for why the threaded steel sleeve cannot be tightened.

1. The pitch in the steel bar connection sleeve is different from the wire head.

Φ16, Φ18, Φ20, Φ22 the pitch of the steel bar connecting sleeve is 2.5mm,

Φ25, Φ28, Φ32, Φ36, the pitch of the steel bar connecting sleeve is 3.0mm.

The pitches of Φ40 steel sleeves are 3.0mm and 3.5mm.

2. The tooth angle of the steel rebar coupler is different from the steel wire head.

There are two types of rebar coupler, 75° and 60° tooth angle, which are commonly used in the market. Some companies produce sleeves with a tooth angle of 70°.

3. The wire head cover is over large. Due to the insufficient adjustment accuracy of the rolling mill during the threading process, the wire head sleeve is too large, or the gear plate of the steel bar rolling machine is not compressed, and the eccentric shaft of the rolling machine is moved, which will also make it impossible to tighten the steel bar connecting sleeve.
