a) Straight threaded rebar coupler should be made of grade 45 round steel or seamless steel pipe and its mechanical properties and chemical composition should meet the requirements of GB/T 699 and GB/T 8162. Other steels also can be used and their mechanical properties should comply with the provisions of the corresponding national or industry standards and be confirmed by type inspection.

b) Straight threaded rebar coupler need to be welded with structural medium-section steel and other steels, the material shall meet the requirements for welded ability.
