Why are Reverse Threads Used in Rebar Couplers

2023-08-10

Reverse threads are used in rebar couplers to ensure that the connection remains tight and prevents the heads from loosening or falling off. Reverse thread couplers are suitable for positions where the rebar cannot rotate, and left and right-handed thread couplers can be used for the connection. In this type of connection, one end of the coupler and the corresponding rebar thread are both processed with left-hand threads. When connecting, the left and right-handed thread heads correspond to the left and right-handed threads of the coupler, and rotating the coupler will bring the rebar ends closer and screw them into the connection, allowing for a quick and convenient connection. In this  article, I will provide some considerations for processing the rebar threads.

Processing of rebar thread heads

1. Adjust the trial bar according to the specifications of the rebar to ensure that the minimum size of the inner hole of the thread head meets the requirements.

2. Replace the stretching knife ring according to the specifications of the rebar and adjust the diameter of the rib peeling to meet the specified size for thread head processing.

3. Adjust the position of the rib peeling block and the rolling stroke switch to ensure that the length of rib peeling and rolling threads meets the requirements of thread head processing.
